Sixties chic

Sixties Chic

Wearing: Oversized cotton jumper from Zara, Navy straight leg trousers from River Island, pointed leather flats from Office Shoes, mock croc handbag from Topshop (gift from best friend)

Continuing my obsession with all-things-sixties I wore this outfit on bank holiday Monday when Chris and I just wandered around London for a couple of hours, take-away coffee and hot chocolate in hand.

We covered everywhere from Holborn to Covent Garden to Piccadilly to the West End. When we found ourselves on Carnaby Street I couldn’t help but smile: is there any place in the world more associated with the 1960s than Carnaby Street?

To aid me on my rediscovery and rekindle my love affair with London I snuggled up with one of my favourite films, “Closer”, on Saturday morning. It’s strange to think that when I first watched it I didn’t know London at all whereas now I get a little thrill from recognising the location of almost every exterior shot.

So what did you do over the long weekend? Once again I failed to make it to Notting Hill Carnival. The overcast skies didn’t really put me in the right frame of mind for steel drums and jerk chicken…
