The last days of summer

Camden Passage

Camden Passage

How bizarre is it that I can refer to October as summer?! Whether I can get my head round it or not, I’m determined to enjoy these few days of glorious sunshine that we’re currently experiencing here in England. Once this sunny spell has passed it’ll be knitwear and umbrellas for 6 or 7 months at best.

This morning I got up early(ish) and cycled to Regent’s Park to read Vogue and attempt some squirrel-taming in the sunshine whilst Chris caught up on his sleep after a spontaneous boys’ night out. Later we headed out for an afternoon exploring Camden Passage, a place I’ve wanted to visit for a while now.

Just off one of the main high streets in north London, Camden Passage is a pedestrianised alley enclosed on either side by antiques and vintage shops as well as several cafés and restaurants. On Wednesday and Saturday mornings it also hosts an antiques market.

It’s an amazing place for rummaging and much quieter than the more well-known markets like Camden and Portobello. I was drawn to a genuine 1970s women’s US Airforce uniform (navy blue blazer and trousers) which Chris bought for me – for just £5! – from the Militaria shop you can see in my photos below.

I’ve had such a lovely day, I can’t wait for tomorrow! What are your plans for the weekend and for making the most of the weather?
