Pisa photo diary

Whilst in Florence we took a day-trip to Pisa, which is only an hour away by train. I have to say we both found Pisa to be disappointing – the only thing for tourists to see is the famous ‘leaning tower’ (or to give it it’s proper name ‘Torre Pendente’) and we struggled to find anything decent to eat! In Italy! In Florence we unstruggled so much that I’ve come home to find a pair of trousers I wore only the day before going on holiday are now too tight. Worth it.

Florence: Photo Diary #1

First of all (in case you didn’t see my tweet earlier) I recently answered some questions for the lovely Jenny of The Style PA – click here to read my interview on here fabulous blog!

Also, a little update. As my blog is a work in progress I’m constantly looking for ways to improve it and also ways to fit it in better with my full-time job and life in general. With this in mind I have decided that from now on I’ll post Monday-Friday and not at weekends, unless the fancy takes me and I have the time. This will enable me to use the evenings and weekends to plan/research/write my posts which should hopefully mean that they are better quality! And of course at the weekend most of us are out and about, not inside reading blogs, so hopefully this will work better for you too.

photo diary: a perfect weekend in London

This weekend has reminded me how much I miss living in London. The weather was perfect and everyone was in a fantastic mood following the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (read about my experience of the royal wedding).

Chris and I spent the majority of our days simply wandering around our favourite parts of the city. So outfit-wise I opted for comfort and although it was sunny it was also quite breezy so I opted not to wear any of the dresses I’d packed – no Marilyn moment for me!

On Saturday we took in Tower BridgeCity HallTate ModernSt Paul’s, and also wandered through Covent Garden (where I couldn’t help but pop into Paul for some macaroons!). Chris also made a little friend called Shrek…

See, windy! Wearing green peg leg trousers from Zara, red and white striped top from H&M, black ballet pumps from Topshop, carrying Louis Vuitton Speedy bag.

Chris and Shrek, who was raising money for the PDSA.

We had another picnic lunch on Primrose Hill, with Pizza Express, donuts and the gorgeous London skyline.

In the evening we went to local Greek restaurant Lemonia, where I had halloumi and pitta bread followed by lamb souvlaki, before going to the pub.
My Saturday night outfit, and also my Bloggers Do It Better outfit! Wearing a snakeskin print River Island dress, Office Shoes nude buckle heels, and carrying my American Apparel leather pouch.
On Sunday we went to Holland Park, a first for me, then did a bit of shopping on Kensington High Street.
Wearing Zara trousers as above, white H&M mens’ t-shirt, black Topshop pumps as above, Marc by Marc Jacobs bangle, and carrying American Apparel leather pouch as above.
On Monday we’d planned to go to Westminster Abbey to see the floral arrangements from the wedding, which are remaining on display for this week. However the queue was ridiculous so we took in Buckingham Palace then before I knew it I was back at Euston and on my way home.
Wearing Zara blazer, vintage men’s YSL shirt, River Island jeans and sunglasses (on head), carrying Louis Vuitton Speedy bag.
So, what did you get up to this weekend? Didn’t it fly past?! Cheer me up, do you have any exciting plans this week?
